NIGHT NIGHT STORYTIME
Timmy & the Tooth Fairy
Little Timmy Thomas was twiddling his thumbs,
When a teeny tiny tooth slipped right from his gums.
It hit the kitchen table with a sharp little clink,
Then it bounced and flipped and splashed into his drink.
"MOMMMMMMMMYYYY!!!!!" He wailed as his vision grew blurry,
"Oh, Timmy, what is it?" his mother asked with worry.
"I los-lost my tooth!" he said with a quivering chin.
"Aww, sweetie, it's okay. A new one will grow in."
"What do I do with that one?" he asked, peering into his cup.
"Leave it with the Tooth Fairy, of course. Now come on, cheer up."
That night, Timmy tucked his tooth tight under his pillow,
And he dreamt of the Tooth Fairy flying in through the window.
He awoke in the morning and to his disappointment,
His tooth was still there! The fairy missed her appointment!
"Mommy!" Timmy cried, "she forgot to come!"
"Oh, whoops," Mom said, "Well, she must feel pretty dumb."
"We'll try again tonight. She'll uhh... she'll be here. Okay?"
Mom set her alarm and tried her best to stay awake.
The morning sun broke and Timmy woke up.
His tooth was still there and he cried, "Ah, I give up!"
"She's not coming ever. She hates me! I know it!"
Timmy took his tooth and flushed it down the toilet.
Mom sat Timmy down and told him the truth.
"It's my fault," she said, "you see, she fell off the roof."
"I was supposed to unlock your window and I completely forgot,"
"So the Tooth Fairy struggled and couldn't get it unlocked."
"She slipped and fell all the way to her death."
"So there's no more Tooth Fairy. She took her last breath."
"But why couldn't she just fly? If she has wings, why did she fall?"
Mom said uneasily, "Oh uh... because her wings were broken. That's all."
"If her wings were broken, how did she get on the roof?"
"Well... she really really wanted to get to that tooth."
Timmy scratched his head and scrunched his brow.
"I don't know about this, Mommy. I just don't see how."
Mom began to sweat as Timmy looked at her funny.
She cracked. "Okay! You got me. I'm so sorry, honey."
"The Tooth Fairy is made up. She's only a myth."
"I forgot about your tooth. It's my fault you're gypped."
"Here is a dollar. It's what I'm supposed to leave you."
Timmy crossed his arms and shook his head. "Make it two."
Mom chuckled and handed Timmy Thomas another dollar.
He said, "I hope you've learned your lesson about lying to someone smaller."
Nose in the air, Little Timmy Thomas waddled away with his money.
Mom called, "Wait... We need to talk about Santa and the Easter Bunny..."
